Philanthropy

Supported Foundations

The Birmingham Kiwanis Foundation was established in 1965 when Harry Brock, Jr. was President of the Kiwanis Club. Initially, National Football League game sponsorships and a water ski sponsorship helped fund the new foundation, but it was determined that members would prefer to donate to the foundation each year instead of participating in ongoing fundraisers.

The corpus of the foundation is approaching the $2.5 million mark, which enables us to distribute approximately $70,000 annually to community organizations, focusing on projects related to young children. The list of organizations we have contributed to is long and continues to grow as we add new organizations each year.
